1.) Close up of special effect, demonstrating it's aesthetic qualities

2.) Safe working practices in the studio and on set:

For this we made sure the two actors weren't allergic to any of the chemicals and makeup used, when in the test run and in the film.

We made sure to have some tissues ready, to prevent the liquid makeup and chemicals from spilling, so it didn't ruin anything and made sure to have the right materials to take all of the makeup and modelling wax off.

We made sure that the table wasn't crowded and that the chemicals and makeup were in a safe place, so they wouldn't get knocked over and so that it didn't make it difficult for the makeup artist to do the makeup

We made sure we could use the room and that it wasn't a place with lots of noise, so it wouldn't mess up the recording.

We made sure the equipment was away from the makeup and chemicals, so it didn't get spilt on the them and damage them and so that the makeup artist didn't knock them by accident, if they were moving their arms so they could put the makeup on the persons face properly.

3.) Following safe working practices

We followed safe working practices by making sure the makeup artists had space, the equipment was in a safe place, while the makeup was being done and made sure that no one was messing around with the equipment. After the makeup was done we made sure everything was in the right place and that the makeup stuff was put away, so the actors wouldn't trip on it, since there weren't many tables in there.

4.) My role on the set was makeup artist, so i put the makeup on the actors, my secondary role was being an actor, so i was the one with the knife wound, so i had to put the makeup on myself. As makeup artist i had to check that the actor(s) weren't allergic to the makeup or chemicals and i had to also help them take off the makeup, so i made sure to bring the right chemicals to take it off with. I also had to make sure that all of the makeup was put away, this way no one would trip on it. I also had to be director, so i told the cameraman, who was Josh, where the shot was going to be and what would happen in the shot.

Overall I think that i did my role well, since the fake knife wound to the leg looked good, however it could've been improved to make it look more realistic and the monsters face was difficult to do, but i managed to do it and make it work, even if it didn't look completely professional, but i think i did well putting the makeup on.

As director, i think that there were some good shots that we did, like the close up of the leg, having the axe in it and having blood on their hand, while they pull it out, when it was taken out, because it was sticky, it had bits of fake blood connecting to the axe and leg, which made it look real and i think it was a pretty good shot, i think the monster face shots could've been better since there was too much light, it would've been better if it was darker, that way you don't see the whole monster and on the close up on the leg, which i talked about, if that was a bit lighter, so you could see it more, i think it would've worked better, since it was a bit too dark.
